| July 2007 Update |

Hello all! I have had quite the busy few months. My yard has been doing beautifully well. All these amazing flowers are blooming and my veggie garden is doing awesome. :) Looking forward to making lots of tasty salads as a reward! Here's the quick summary on my life the last few months: May 20th my friends Brent and Tessa joined me in the Community Classic bike ride. We had a lot of fun and, of course, ate lots of their famous cinnamon pancakes afterwards!
After the ride I hosted a bar-b-q at my house and had lots of friends over for an afternoon of good conversation and a fair number of burned burgers. :) Then, for Memorial day, I went to Chicago to both visit some friends there as well as take the opportunity to visit the University of Chicago's business school to see what I might think of getting an MBA (don't get all excited, I'm just trying to see what the next step in my career might be!). :) I had a wonderful weekend and got to spend a good amount of time with both my friends Jody and Frankie as well as Elisa and Marcy.
Sitting with my new "boyfriend" made of Legos.
Frankie and Jody who took me out to dinner to a wonderfully tasty restaurant where I ate way too much!
Marcy and Elisa on our kayak tour along the Chicago river where we learned a bit about the history of Chicago. Very fun and a perfect weather day for it! Work has also been pretty busy for me as I've taken on a greater role within my group. I've really enjoyed the work I've been getting to do including the greater responsibility. And I think my boss finally knows what I'm really working on! :) I've also had a busy few months socially. Been meeting a number of new people and had a ton of fun hanging out both with them as well as with my good friends in Ft Collins. I am truly lucky to have some amazing friends here in Colorado! Oh, and many people keep asking about my love life. Let's just say that the dating scene has been entertaining and fun too but you will get no details as of now. :) As many of you already know, I've been missing the a cappella scene for a while. So, when there was a group in town that opened up auditions, I jumped at the chance. I did get a callback, but, sadly, they chose someone else to join their group instead of me. Oh well. However, it made me realize just how much I really love singing, so I'm hopeful that another opportunity will present itself in the future. :) Until that time, I've bought more a cappella music than any human being should really own and continue to sing along at the top of my lungs in my car! :) Then, in the last two weeks of June I went with my friends Peggy and Loyal (who used to live in Fort Collins but at the end of the Summer last year moved to Hawaii) to South Africa for vacation. Loyal did a GREAT job of planning the trip (thank you Loyal!) and I had such a blast! Since there are many photos for that trip, feel free to check out this page for details: Click here for my South Africa vacation details and LOTS of photos And, July 3rd I celebrated my 30th birthday (yep, I'm officially "old"). :) I rang in the new decade by going with many of my close friends here in Colorado to see my favorite a cappella group in Colorado, Face, perform. We had SUCH a great time. Ate lots of tasty food and did a lot of dancing in my chair (and even some standing up in the small venue). I was really happy to share my birthday with such amazing people.
That's a lot of candles! |
